Red Ring of Death for the XBOX 360 Repair Guide? Do these guides actually work to help fix the problem?

It really does depend what problem you have with yuor 360.
The most common problem is the 3 red lights flashing on the power button when you turn your console on.
This means that you have a general hardware failure and normally this happens because of heat. As the motherboard heats up the soldering snaps off and then you are left with this problem.
The 2 main chips that deal with all the number crunching in the 360 are called the GPU and the CPU and it is because of these getting too hot that the problem happens.
Sometimes the heat can affect other parts of the console and if you get other bits of the motherboard frying you will get a different number of lights showing.
These can either be 1 red light, 2 red lights or sometimes the DVD drive stop playing games!

Well Yes and No, you must make sure that you get a good one that will show you how to stop the chips from taking so much heat and not just a link to the dreaded towel trick!
