Xbox 360 warranty question?
I bought an Xbox 360 off of craigslist not long ago and I just recently started having trouble seeing three flashing lights. I’m aware of the problem and the possible troubleshooting tips but none of these have worked. Does anyone have a ballpark idea of the cost I’ll have to ensure to fix my Xbox? I can’t get in touch with the guy I bought it from so I have no idea if there’s a warranty. I’m assuming there isn’t.
Check the production date on the sticker on the back of the Xbox. You will see a serial number and a date it was made.
If this was less than 3 years ago you will be able to get it repaired by Microsoft for free. You have an increased warranty for 3 red light issues. If the date is older than 3 years then you’ll need to pay something around about £50-60 ($100-120), I’m unsure on the American cost so you would need to contact 1-800-MYXBOX to find out more.
